This Second Cook position supports kitchen activities at the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts property. Prepare cold food items according to recipes, portions, and quality standards while controlling food usage. The work includes maintaining kitchen areas, monitoring supplies, and assisting cooks and stewards during peak periods. Communication with other departments supports coordinated service for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare salads, sandwiches, cold entrees, and prepared foods
- Clean work surfaces throughout food preparation activities
- Maintain organized reach-ins, walk-ins, counters, and stations
- Report equipment, inventory, food quality, and portion problems
- Assist cooks and stewards during peak activity periods
Requirements:
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills
- Some prior food preparation experience preferred
- Ability to carry or lift items up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, move, bend, stoop, and kneel
- Food service permit or health card as required
