The Mutual Fire Insurance Company of British Columbia, founded in 1902, is one of Canada's longest-standing and most respected mutual property and casualty insurers. Over more than 120 years, the organization has evolved from a regional agricultural insurer into a growing national insurance provider serving farm, commercial, and personal insurance customers across multiple provinces. Together with its subsidiary, Four Points Insurance, the company combines deep agricultural expertise, disciplined underwriting, strong broker and MGA/MGU relationships, financial strength, and a reputation for exceptional service and fair claims handling.

Today, the company is entering one of the most important periods in its history. As it celebrates its 125th anniversary and prepares for the retirement of a long-serving and highly successful President and CEO, the organization is simultaneously pursuing an ambitious growth strategy aimed at becoming a $750 million Canadian mutual insurer. Supported by a strong balance sheet, a talented leadership team, a respected brand, and a culture grounded in mutuality, service, and community, the company is exceptionally well positioned for its next chapter of growth and evolution.

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the President and CEO will provide enterprise-wide leadership across the organization and will be both a steward of its core identity and a catalyst for future-facing change. The President and CEO will be responsible for advancing the company's strategic vision while balancing growth, underwriting discipline, financial performance, member value, organizational capability, and long-term sustainability.

The ideal candidate is a highly respected insurance executive with significant property and casualty experience and a demonstrated ability to lead growth, transformation, and organizational performance in a regulated environment. They will combine strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and operational discipline with humility, integrity, and a genuine appreciation for people and culture.

This is a rare opportunity to lead one of Canada's most respected mutual insurance organizations at a defining moment in its history. The incoming President and CEO will inherit a strong foundation, an exceptional team, a differentiated culture, and significant opportunities for growth.

In accordance with BC’s Pay Transparency Act, the expected base salary range for this role is $385,000-$425,000 plus bonus and benefits but may vary based on the successful candidate.
