Senior Electrical Engineer, Energy Distribution

Due to growth, we are looking for an experienced electrical designer for electricity distribution projects at Insta Industry. You will engage in meaningful and challenging total solutions for electricity distribution projects. We have been growing profitably in the field of electricity distribution and as a corporation for 15 consecutive years.

Our projects typically include 110 kV substations (AIS and GIS), main and distribution transformers, medium voltage switchgear, and their auxiliary systems, such as protection and DC systems. We carry out projects from project and preliminary design to actual design (up to 110kV), network calculations, simulations, and customer consulting. We operate independently of brands, allowing you to work comprehensively with various hardware and software.

YOUR ROLE

In this role, you will be involved in or directly responsible for the technical design and development of both secondary and primary solutions for 110/20 kV. You can start with secondary design expertise, expand to the primary side, and if desired, progress to the lead designer role. In this case, your partner will be the project manager, who handles the organizational side of the project - you can focus on the technical aspects.

You will be part of the entire design project for substations from start to finish. You will supervise or, after familiarizing yourself with your new role, oversee subcontractors' work from a technical perspective, for example, related to earthworks or steel design.

If you wish, you will also have responsibilities in customer interfaces, providing technical support to project managers, and mentoring colleagues - we can shape the role according to your preferences. If desired, you can also influence working methods and business development.

You can choose to work from any Insta Industry office, such as in Tampere, Pori, Kuopio, Vantaa, or Vaasa (and many others). Flexible remote work is also possible in this position. We carry out projects across different offices, and you will always receive support and lunch company from your local team, as well as from other experienced Instans.

You will also travel a few times a year to customer sites to ensure the proper functioning of the systems. In terms of compensation, we strongly consider your previous skills and experience positively. The position is, of course, full-time and permanent.

WE EXPECT FROM YOU

You have at least a few years of experience in electrical design and knowledge of medium and high voltage systems up to 20/kV or even 110 kV. You are capable of making technical choices and communicating them to customers and your team. You want to continuously develop your skills and take on increasingly challenging tasks.

Additionally, you have:

• A relevant education (electrical engineering degree or equivalent)
• Good communication and teamwork skills, enabling smooth collaboration with both your team and customers
• Fluent written and spoken Finnish and English
• The ability to work independently and as part of a project team
• The desire and ability to support and mentor other Instan experts
