This individual will support trading, operations, and member service for an app-based investing platform, ensuring client instructions are processed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with regulatory requirements.

The role reports to senior compliance leadership and works closely with Compliance, Operations, and the firm’s custodian.

Responsibilities

  • Support buy and sell orders for stocks, ETFs, and other investment products submitted through an app-based investing platform, including preparing trade tickets when manual execution is required.
  • Review trade requests for completeness, verify client identity, and ensure orders are correctly tagged and executed according to client instructions.
  • Investigate trade activity, communicate updates to clients, and escape discrepancies or exceptions as required.
  • Provide responsive customer service by phone, email, and chat, helping clients resolve account, transfer, and transaction-related questions.
  • Process voluntary reorganizations, registered account beneficiary changes, internal account transfers, and transfers of securities to and from external institutions.
  • Monitor settlement and delivery, maintain accurate daily trade records, and complete daily reconciliations with the custodian.
  • Coordinate with back-office and custodial partners regarding market activity, trading halts, order handling, and operational issues.
  • Contribute ideas to improve workflows, the client experience, and the effective use of AI-enabled tools across the function.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bilingual fluency in English and French.
  • Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (CPH).
  • Completion of the CIRO 30-day training program while employed full-time with a Dealer Member firm.
  • Current or recent registration eligibility for a regulated trading role in Canada.
  • At least 1–2 years of relevant experience in investment services, trading operations, brokerage operations, or a closely related regulated environment.
  • Strong customer-service experience within banking, investments, or financial services, including the ability to resolve client concerns professionally.
  • Excellent attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to reprioritize quickly in a regulatory-sensitive environment.
  • Availability during Canadian market hours, with typical working hours of 8:30 a. m.–5:00 p. m.
  • Experience supporting an app-based brokerage, wealth-management, or financial-services product.
  • Experience with order-entry, book-of-record, custodial, reconciliation, transfer, or settlement workflows.
  • Working knowledge of Excel and comfort learning new trading and operational systems.
  • An interest in fintech, process improvement, and the responsible use of AI tools.
