About the Role:

Our client, a major aerospace manufacturer, is looking for a Senior Professional Engineer to join its Fly-By-Wire (FBW) and Secondary Flight Control Systems team. This role supports an established, in-service aircraft program while helping shape the flight control systems for next-generation platforms. You'll own the integration of FBW and secondary flight control systems on the aircraft, working closely with the flight control system supplier from concept through certification and into in-service support.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the integration of FBW and Secondary Flight Control systems on the aircraft.
  • Support the flight control system supplier in developing design concepts and technical approach.
  • Perform and review feasibility analyses for proposed concepts.
  • Develop, validate, and verify technical requirements — including preparing and reviewing requirements, test procedures, and test reports, and executing test rig and aircraft testing in support of certification.
  • Resolve in-service issues through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action.
  • Ensure compliance with the ARP4754 development process.
  • Support trade-off studies and life cycle cost analysis for future programs.
  • Make sure design and equipment implementation align with company engineering standards.
  • Travel occasionally to supplier facilities, regulatory authorities, and manufacturing/test sites (Final Assembly Line, Completion Centers, Flight Test Center).

MANDATORY — CANDIDATES MUST MEET ALL OF THE FOLLOWING

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years in an aerospace-related engineering role.
  • Direct FBW experience: Directly involved in the definition and certification of at least one Fly-By-Wire and/or Secondary Flight Control system.
  • Systems knowledge: Solid understanding of system definition, integration, and certification, with knowledge of aircraft systems and interfaces (electrical, hydraulic, avionics, auto-flight).
  • Regulatory knowledge: Familiarity with the Part 25 certification process.
  • Language: Fluent in both English and French.

Nice to Have

  • Experience modeling and running dynamic simulation of flight control electrical and hydraulic actuators.
  • Working knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow.
  • Familiarity with other simulation environments (e.g., ADAMS) or design tools (e.g., CATIA).
  • Comfortable with MS Office and requirements management tools.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Works well with limited supervision, organized, a strong team player, self-motivated, customer-focused, and able to perform under pressure.
  • Shows initiative, innovation, a strong sense of responsibility and integrity, adaptability, solid interpersonal communication, sound engineering judgment, and a drive for results.
