Infotek Consulting is hiring a Desktop Engineer for one of Canada’s Big 5 banks. You’ll join a 6-person team responsible for keeping the bank’s Windows device fleet patched, compliant, and secure. The job is two parts: fix non-compliant devices, then build PowerShell automation so the same issues stop coming back.
What you’ll do:
- Diagnose and resolve compliance issues across OS patching, Office patching, driver updates, and system configurations.
- Find root causes of non-compliance, document findings, and drive corrective actions to closure.
- Write, test, and deploy PowerShell automation to proactively fix recurring issues across the fleet.
- Partner with endpoint management and helpdesk teams to roll out patches with minimal user disruption.
- Support Windows 11 upgrades and configurations to meet compliance standards.
- Own select enterprise applications, including vendor engagement and reviewing new releases for impact.
- Handle escalated patching, driver, and compliance issues, and keep end users informed.
What you bring:
- 6+ years in desktop support or engineering with a focus on patch management and compliance.
- Strong Windows 11 knowledge: OS configuration, patching, and driver management.
- Hands-on PowerShell scripting for automation and maintenance.
- Experience with endpoint management platforms such as Microsoft Intune or SCCM/MECM.
- Familiarity with patch management and automation tools.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Nice to have:
- Microsoft Certified: Endpoint/Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, CompTIA A+, or CompTIA ITF+.
- Understanding of security compliance requirements and device management best practices.
- Experience in banking or another regulated environment.
Please note that this role requires a background check.
