Lead accounts payable operations with the City of Regina, applying accounting standards, tax rules, and internal controls. This term role lasts up to three years.
As Coordinator, Accounting Services, you supervise Finance Department accounts payable, collections, and sundry receivables. You support strategic planning, policy development, budgeting, audits, banking activities, and process improvements. The position reports to the Financial Business Partner – Public Accounting and Reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee accounts payable, collections, and sundry receivables operations
- Monitor reconciliations, transaction processing, and payment approvals
- Ensure compliance with legislation, GST/PST, procurement agreements, and policies
- Lead staff recruitment, training, performance management, and labour relations
- Analyze data and recommend process improvements
Requirements:
- University degree in Commerce or Administration
- Recognized accounting designation such as CPA or similar education
- Five years of progressively responsible accounting experience
- At least three years of supervisory experience
- Knowledge of municipal accounting, budgeting, procurement, and legislation
