About Equality Fund
The Equality Fund is a feminist-led global grantmaking and philanthropic organization dedicated to transforming the flow of resources and power to women, girls, and trans people worldwide. Launched in 2019, the organization has developed an innovative model designed by feminists for feminists, combining multiple approaches to advance gender equality and feminist movements globally. The organization operates through a comprehensive strategy that includes global grantmaking, gender-lens investing, policy advocacy, and feminist philanthropy practices. Since its establishment, the Equality Fund has activated over $100 million in resources that flow directly to more than 1,800 organizations working across 100 countries. The organization is committed to sustainably resourcing feminist movements and creating systemic change by ensuring that resources reach grassroots and movement-led organizations working on issues affecting women, girls, and trans people. The Equality Fund’s approach recognizes that traditional philanthropic models often fail to adequately support feminist and gender justice work, and the organization seeks to address this gap through innovative funding mechanisms and strategic partnerships. The organization is rooted in core values including anti-racism, anti-oppression, and intersectionality; feminist leadership; accountability; and radical love. The Equality Fund operates with a commitment to sharing power, creating space for diverse voices to lead, and building networks that advance gender equality. The organization maintains a flexible and virtual work environment that trusts its talented team and reflects its commitment to collaborative, inclusive practices that align with its feminist mission.
