This permanent full time Driver Examiner role supports ICBC's Nelson Driver Licensing Office. You will conduct commercial and passenger vehicle road tests, administer re-examinations, evaluate driver performance, and assist customers between tests. The position requires judgment, clear feedback, scheduling skills, and computer proficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Class 1–8 commercial and passenger vehicle road tests
- Administer re-examinations under the Motor Vehicle Act
- Evaluate driving skills, knowledge, and safe driving ability
- Provide clear, constructive feedback after road tests
- Support inquiries, transactions, scheduling, and daily workflow
Requirements:
- Valid Class 5 British Columbia licence or higher
- Clean driving record and professional customer service approach
- Confidence making independent decisions in challenging situations
- Ability to deliver difficult feedback respectfully
- Strong organization, time management, computer, and data-entry skills
