Description

The Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) Database Administrator (DBA) Consultant in this role will support a strategic, multi-year enterprise initiative. In this role, you will implement and operationalize ExaCC as an enterprise database platform across multiple core applications and business services. As a hands-on technical implementer with deep Oracle database engineering expertise, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of ExaCC environments—from initial provisioning, OCI infrastructure setup, and database migrations to stabilization, performance optimization, and transition into production operations.

Responsibilities

  • ExaCC Platform Implementation & Delivery: Lead the end-to-end setup and provisioning of ExaCC environments, including OCI tenancy administration, IAM policy creation, compartment structures, VCN networking/peering, Object Storage, and monitoring configurations.
  • Database Migration & Cutover Management: Plan, execute, and validate Oracle database migrations onto the ExaCC platform. Develop comprehensive migration strategies, manage dry-run rehearsals, execute cutovers, establish rollback plans, and stabilize environments in partnership with application owners.
  • High Availability & Disaster Recovery (HA/DR): Architect, deploy, and troubleshoot Oracle Data Guard (switchover, failover, DR testing) and Oracle GoldenGate replication (Extract/Replicat, initial loads, lag resolution, resyncs, abends). Correctly align HA/DR patterns (RAC vs. Data Guard vs. GoldenGate) based on business RPO/RTO requirements.
  • Performance Tuning & Optimization: Conduct deep-dive performance analysis using advanced Exadata capabilities (Smart Scan, Offloading, HCC, Storage Indexing) as well as SQL tuning, wait-event analysis, and I/O optimization.
  • Operational Readiness & Transition: Establish Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) monitoring, build automated operational scripts, author runbooks, enforce change/incident/security compliance, and deliver clear status reporting to technical leads and project stakeholders.
