Full-time, permanent position in Calgary, AB.

Opportunity to build a new office presence. Raise has partnered with an AI first technology consulting firm that helps mid-market and enterprise organizations adopt Generative AI, Agentic AI, data analytics, and intelligent automation to improve business performance. They combine deep business expertise with modern AI platforms to deliver measurable outcomes; not just technology projects.

We are establishing a brand new office in Calgary and seeking an entrepreneurial individual who wants to build something from the ground up. This is not a typical sales role. You will be the first person on the ground in Calgary, responsible for helping establish local presence, building relationships across the business community, and securing those first customers. You'll work directly with the founders, CEO, and have significant autonomy to shape the growth strategy.

Primary target clients are mid-market and enterprise organizations with annual revenues of $500 million and above, particularly those investing in AI, data modernization, and digital transformation initiatives. Our initial focus industries include:

  • Oil & Gas / Energy
  • Financial Services
  • Mid-market enterprises undergoing AI and digital transformation

If you enjoy creating opportunities where none exist and want to help build a high-growth company, we'd like to talk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a market entry strategy for Calgary.
  • Build relationships with senior executives across target industries.
  • Generate qualified sales opportunities through networking, referrals, events, and outbound outreach.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, business associations, and networking events.
  • Build a pipeline of strategic opportunities and convert them into long-term client relationships.
  • Help establish the Calgary office and contribute to recruiting future local team members.
  • Develop partnerships with industry organizations, technology vendors, and local business groups.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of business development, enterprise sales, consulting, or relationship management experience.
  • Strong network within Calgary's business community is highly desirable.
  • Experience selling consulting, technology, software, or professional services.
  • Understanding of the Oil & Gas, Energy, or Financial Services sectors.
  • Comfortable engaging C-suite executives and business leaders.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is someone who:

  • Is a true self-starter.
  • Enjoys building businesses from scratch.
  • Can open doors and create opportunities.
  • Is resourceful and resilient.
  • Thrives in ambiguity.
  • Thinks like an owner rather than an employee.
  • Wants to grow into a leadership role as the Calgary office expands.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI, data analytics, cloud platforms, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Existing relationships within Alberta's energy ecosystem or financial institutions.
  • Previous experience at a consulting firm, technology company, or startup.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft's AI ecosystem, Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
