They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Overview

You keep materials moving into and out of the Calgary assembly operation, and you make sure every cross-border shipment clears customs cleanly.

You work with vendors, carriers, freight forwarders, and client’s International Trade team.

Your paperwork is accurate, so shipments arrive on time and compliant.

This is a new kind of role at the company, so you help shape how the work gets done.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule outbound trucks, confirm pickups, and follow up when a truck doesn’t show.
  • Combine freight to maximize payload, so shipments don’t go out one pallet at a time.
  • Coordinate inbound raw material deliveries with supply vendors and the warehouse team, and plan where materials go on arrival.
  • Prepare and review shipping paperwork, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and export declarations.
  • Manage imports from China and exports to the US, so classifications, duties, and tariffs are right on every shipment.
  • Ask client’s Supply Chain International Trade team for classification codes and requirements, then apply them to each shipment.
  • Work with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to clear customs and resolve delays.
  • Keep shipment records and follow-up trackers current in Excel and the company’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
  • Track on-time delivery, freight cost, and customs clearance performance.
  • Help build import and export procedures from the ground up.
  • Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years in logistics, import/export, or international trade coordination.
  • Hands-on experience with import and export paperwork and customs processes.
  • 3+ years with any ERP system.
  • Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers.
  • 3+ years using Microsoft Excel to track shipments and follow-ups.
  • Sharp attention to detail, plus the confidence to ask tough questions and push back when something looks off.
  • Clear, steady communication with outside partners.
  • Comfort building a process where none exists yet.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in oil and gas or drilling, so you know the parts you’re shipping.
  • Experience with cross-border shipments between Canada, the US, and China.
  • Looking for meaningful work? We can help
