Hypertec is seeking a Business Systems Analyst, AI and Automation to join our Project Management team in Montreal, Quebec. If you are motivated, collaborative, and aligned with our values, we would love to hear from you. We believe that how we work is just as important as what we build. Our values reflect the mindset we bring to everything we do: Trust, Customer Focus.

What You’ll Be Contributing:

  • Lead process discovery with business units, mapping current workflows, handoffs, pain points, and data sources, and use AI tools to produce current state documentation, workflows, work instructions, SOPs, and gap analyses to the enterprise process documentation standard.
  • Identify and assess AI and automation opportunities from process analysis, estimating effort, expected benefit, and data sensitivity, and bring them to the Senior Product Owner, AI for prioritization.
  • Design future state processes that combine AI agents, automation, and people, defining where humans review, approve, or handle exceptions.
  • Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, and functional specifications for the AI platform backlog.
  • Analyze integrations and data flows between the AI platform and business systems, documenting data sources, access permissions, and interface requirements with development.
  • Define evaluation criteria, test sets, and accuracy thresholds for AI outputs before build, write test scenarios from acceptance criteria, and support user acceptance testing with the AI Adoption Lead.
  • Measure results after release by comparing cycle time, effort, and error rates against the process baseline, and report findings to the Senior Product Owner, AI.
  • Keep process maps, requirements, and solution documentation current so every solution stays supportable after release.

What Sets You Apart:

  • 5+ years of experience as a business systems analyst, business analyst, or similar role, translating business needs into requirements for development teams.
  • Demonstrated experience producing process documentation, including current state maps, workflows, work instructions, SOPs, and gap analyses, using AI tools to draft and accelerate the work while validating accuracy with process owners.
  • Working knowledge of BPMN or an equivalent notation.
  • Experience identifying and delivering AI or automation solutions, such as workflow automation, robotic process automation, or AI assistants, from requirements through production use.
  • Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications, and working in Agile delivery with Jira and Confluence or similar tools.
  • Working knowledge of APIs, system integrations, and data flows, and the ability to query data with SQL or similar tools to validate requirements and results.
  • Daily, practical use of generative AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot, and a working understanding of how large language models behave, including their limits and failure modes.
  • Strong facilitation skills, with experience leading discovery workshops with business stakeholders at all levels.
  • Advanced French and English, spoken and written. English is required because the role works daily with development teams and business unit stakeholders outside Quebec.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in business, information systems, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Business analysis certification such as CBAP, CCBA, IIBA Agile Analysis (AAC), or IIBA Product Ownership Analysis (CPOA).
  • Experience with low code automation platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform, or with AI agent tooling and Model Context Protocol (MCP).
  • Experience testing or evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, reliability, and bias.
  • Experience with ERP and enterprise business systems in manufacturing, supply chain, or IT services environments.
  • Basic scripting skills in Python or a similar language.
