Salary: 115-140K

Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize and lead a design team for new product development with adherence to Product Development Process, Husky Standards and Stage Gate.
• Estimate effort and cost and ensure delivery meets time, cost and quality targets.
• Implement continuous improvement activities including metrics, root cause analysis and implementation of improvement.
• Lead engineering design team through Product Development Process, supervising and supporting team members regarding marketing support, product definition, specification, scoping and VOC.
• Conduct concept development, evaluation and recommendation.
• Mitigate risk through past service issue research, risk identification and formal DFMEA.
• Perform system level design with high attention to detail and adherence to Husky standards.
• Conduct engineering analysis using hand calculation, spreadsheet and CAE formats.
• Execute design with high attention to detail in engineering quality.
• Develop validation plans and maintain design document discipline.
• Prepare for Product Release Process.
• Support team member development through coaching, mentoring, providing technical leadership opportunities, performance management, individual development planning, interviewing and hiring.
• Foster an innovative environment and develop open communication amongst team, across disciplines, and outside engineering.
• Develop project and resource plans, proactively manage project budgets, status, execution timeline and mitigation as required.
• Communicate team status to management and facilitate weekly team design reviews and planning whiteboards.
• Provide technical support for Sales and Service.

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of Product Development Process, Stage Gate, and Husky Standards.
• Understanding of Quality function deployment processes.
• Strong knowledge of specific supporting discipline and Husky products and customer base.
• Strong project and time management skills with the ability to delegate tasks and projects.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop/mentor a team.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation).
• Strong sense of integrity and flexibility, embracing changing priorities.
• Previous hands-on design experience.
• Post-secondary education (University engineering degree preferred) or 5-10 years of equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of engineering experience; leadership experience preferred.
• Previous project management experience is an asset.
• Solid design engineering skills.
