About the job
- Design, simulate, implement, and maintain microgrid control and protection systems.
- Produce and review protection and control schemes, functional design specifications, support technical requirement formulations and stakeholder discussions.
- Design, develop and test microgrid protection and control logics, communication, and APIs for EMS / SCADA integration.
- Support hardware and software integration of protection and control systems, with the interoperability on protocol stacks such as IEC 60870-5-101/104, IEC 61850 MMS, Goose, DNP3, Modbus.
Job requirements
- Hold a bachelor's or a Master’s degree in the field of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or with a related background in power system protection and automation.
- 3+ years of working experience in microgrid control and protection design and deployment. Familiar with common automation controllers/PLCs/RTUs and IEC61131.
- 3+ years of microgrid integration experience with the protocols such as IEC 60870-5-101/104, IEC 61850 MMS, Goose, DNP3, Modbus.
- Proficiency with application-level development (RTOS, C/C++, Linux, FPGA/SoC platforms, etc.).
- Familiar with offline EMT simulations and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations.
- Familiarity with microgrid solution commissioning is an asset.
