Assist with interpreting survey data, site measurements, design criteria, and project requirements.
Help ensure that drawings and design documentation reflect approved engineering concepts, project standards, and applicable regulations.
Maintain drawing registers, revision histories, and document-control procedures to ensure that project teams use the correct information.
Project Coordination and Delivery
Support project managers and engineers with planning, scheduling, progress tracking, and day-to-day project administration.
Assist in preparing project work plans, technical reports, meeting notes, progress updates, and project status documentation.
Coordinate with internal departments, external consultants, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to obtain technical information and resolve routine project queries.
Monitor assigned tasks and deadlines, identify potential delays, and communicate issues to the relevant project team members.
Assist with tracking project deliverables, design submissions, approvals, and outstanding actions.
Participate in design coordination meetings and contribute to discussions about technical requirements, construction constraints, and project priorities.
Help maintain accurate records of design changes, site instructions, technical queries, and project correspondence.
Site and Construction Support
Assist with reviewing site information, survey records, inspection notes, and construction documentation.
Support site visits and field assessments when required to verify existing conditions and gather information for design development.
Compare site observations with approved drawings and report apparent discrepancies to the responsible engineer.
Assist in preparing technical responses to contractor queries and requests for information.
Support the preparation of inspection checklists, site reports, progress photographs, and construction documentation.
Help identify potential construction challenges and communicate relevant findings to the project team.
Follow established site safety procedures and comply with applicable health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
Assist in checking drawings, calculations, schedules, and technical reports for completeness, consistency, and accuracy.
Follow established engineering quality-management procedures and document-control standards.
Support compliance with applicable building codes, civil engineering standards, environmental requirements, and local regulations.
Maintain clear records of design reviews, approvals, revisions, and corrective actions.
Escalate technical concerns, design discrepancies, and potential risks to the appropriate engineer or project manager.
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance drawing quality, document accuracy, coordination, and project workflows.
Administrative and Reporting Support
Prepare and organise engineering files, technical correspondence, project records, and design submission packages.
Assist with preliminary quantity take-offs, material schedules, cost estimates, and project resource tracking.
Update spreadsheets, project trackers, and reporting systems to reflect current project information.
Support procurement and tendering activities by helping compile technical documents, drawings, schedules, and supporting information.
Handle confidential project information responsibly and maintain professional communication with colleagues and external stakeholders.
