Homesol Building Solutions Inc. delivers residential energy efficiency consulting services that help homeowners and industry professionals make informed decisions about energy performance, energy conservation, and sustainable building practices.

We are seeking experienced Bilingual Registered Energy Advisors (French/English) to support new and existing residential construction projects throughout New Brunswick. If you are an experienced or previously registered Energy Advisor looking for flexible work, competitive earning potential, and a long‑term relationship with a growing organization, we would like to hear from you.

The Opportunity: As a Registered Energy Advisor, you will conduct residential energy evaluations, collect and analyze building information, perform diagnostic testing, complete energy modeling, and explain energy performance results and recommended improvements to clients. You will work directly with homeowners, builders, designers, renovators, and trades, representing Homesol professionally while delivering accurate, reliable, and timely assessments. This is a field‑based position requiring technical expertise, strong client communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage your schedule and files independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct residential energy evaluations for new and existing homes in accordance with applicable program requirements and your authorization to perform the work.
  • Measure and document building dimensions, volumes, windows, doors, and other relevant building characteristics.
  • Assess insulation levels, air barriers, building envelope assemblies, and HVAC systems from the basement to the attic.
  • Conduct blower door testing and use infrared thermal imaging equipment to help identify building performance issues.
  • Complete HOT2000 energy modeling using the applicable software version and program requirements.
  • Prepare accurate energy evaluations, reports, EnerGuide labels, and supporting documentation.
  • Explain energy performance results, recommended upgrades, energy efficiency opportunities, and applicable incentive programs to clients.
  • Communicate professionally in both French and English with homeowners, builders, designers, renovators, and other industry professionals.
  • Maintain complete electronic files and submit required documentation within established timelines.
  • Follow site safety requirements, applicable building codes, program standards, and company procedures.
  • Manage appointments, travel, file completion, and administrative responsibilities independently.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • NRCan Registered Energy Advisor experience: Currently registered or previously registered as an Energy Advisor with Natural Resources Canada.
  • Bilingual proficiency: Professional fluency in both French and English.
  • Technical expertise: Practical knowledge of residential construction, building science, energy efficiency, building envelope assemblies, HVAC systems, and the house-as-a-system approach.
  • Energy evaluation experience: Experience conducting residential energy assessments, including building measurements, data collection, and blower door testing.
  • Energy modeling: Experience using HOT2000 for residential energy modeling and evaluating energy efficiency upgrades.
  • Computer skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Transportation: Valid driver's licence, reliable transportation, a good driving record, and proof of automobile insurance.
  • Field readiness: Ability to climb ladders, access attics and basements, carry testing equipment, and work safely in varied residential environments.
  • Independent work: Strong organization, time management, accuracy, professionalism, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Travel flexibility: Willingness to travel regularly to job sites throughout New Brunswick, including occasional overnight stays.

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous experience with HOT2000 energy modeling and cost‑effective energy upgrade recommendations.
  • Experience using Google SketchUp for three-dimensional modeling.
  • Practical experience conducting blower door tests and infrared thermal imaging.
  • Familiarity with the EnerGuide Rating System v.15 and applicable ENERGY STAR® and Net Zero Homes programs.
  • Knowledge of Canadian residential construction practices, current building codes, deep energy retrofits, and energy conservation principles.
  • Experience communicating energy performance results and recommended improvements to homeowners and building industry professionals.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive earning potential of approximately $60,000–$95,000 annually, depending on completed files, productivity, and workload.
  • Flexible scheduling with part‑time and full‑time opportunities.
  • Compensation based on completed files.
