Job Summary
Improve corporate revenue through developing and improving negotiated vendor programs and developing vendor selection strategies in specific vendor categories assigned.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
- Serves as the point of contact for preferred vendors and as a liaison between vendors and the sales team.
- Manages vendor connectivity, gains financial support for marketing programs, ensures accurate invoicing and participates in routine analysis meetings to review programs and identify areas of improvement.
- Selects products for the sales program, ensures products are successfully loaded into the system, sets up promotions and offers for point generation, identifies product training programs and administers SPIFs for the sales force.
- Manages the annual Supplier Summit, identifies list of vendors to sponsor event, provides invite list and develops breakout session presentations.
- Manages content selection for TOOL BOX and print catalogs. Solicits and submits story ideas for Source, SourceXtra and Solutions magazine.
- Identifies and approves product training opportunities.

- Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience.
- Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.
Work Environment
- Usually located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort, such as dust, fumes, or odors.
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Education and Experience
- Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
