Apply overhead transmission line design expertise with Hatch, supporting projects from route selection through construction across North America. This Transmission Line Lead role combines senior engineering judgment, team mentoring, and client-facing business development. You will oversee design quality, guide structures and materials decisions, interpret transmission standards, and support proposals for utility and industrial clients. The role may be based in Winnipeg, Mississauga, Vancouver, or Calgary. Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical oversight throughout the transmission project lifecycle Review overhead structures, conductors, OPGW, insulators, and fittings Perform quality checks and improve design practices Mentor staff through training and performance development Represent Hatch with clients and industry associations Requirements:
Minimum 10 years designing overhead power transmission lines Experience with route selection and multiple structure types Working knowledge of IEEE, ASCE, CSA, NESC, IEC, and CIGRE Familiarity with Canadian and U.S. utility standards Degree in Structural, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering Use overhead line design knowledge and technical leadership to strengthen Hatch’s transmission services across Canada and the United States.
