This permanent part-time position serves the MD Registration department at Halton Healthcare. You will validate healthcare coverage, manage treatment records, and address inquiries from patients, families, physicians, and staff. The work requires medical terminology, advanced keyboarding, and careful clerical coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Register patients using Meditech software
- Validate healthcare coverage and collect uninsured payment information
- Create and close treatment records accurately
- Admit patients and coordinate bed allocation with nursing staff
- Provide overnight break coverage across departments
Requirements:
- One year of similar healthcare clerical experience or Medical Office Administration diploma
- Successful completion of a medical terminology course
- Advanced keyboarding and extremely accurate data entry skills
- Microsoft Office experience including Outlook and Word is an asset
- Ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision
