Teach intermediate students at Chief Matthews School through personalized learning, BC Curriculum, and Haida language and traditional teachings. This is full-time work.
The Intermediate Classroom Teacher reports to the Principal at a K/4 to Grade 6 school in Old Massett. You will create productive curriculum, support varying needs and abilities, and help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Collaboration with staff and community remains central.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop engaging curriculum aligned with provincial and school standards
- Integrate Read Well Literacy and JUMP Math programs
- Track learning outcomes, goals, Haida culture, and language
- Collaborate on IEP, behaviour plan, and SMART goals
- Report student progress to parents and guardians
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in education
- Current BC Teaching certificate
- Training and experience in intermediate instruction
- Level 1 First Aid or willingness to obtain certification
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and pass criminal record check
