Lead open pit mine planning for Graymont across Western North America from Calgary, Alberta, in a hybrid Senior Mining Engineer position. Graymont seeks a Senior Mining Engineer supporting multiple quarries across Utah, Nevada, Montana, Alberta, and other Western Region sites. Reporting to the NA Mining and Geology Lead, you will optimize mine plans and operations while supporting permitting, reclamation, reserve verification, automation, and cost improvement. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain mine plans across Western Region quarries
- Create and update pit designs using internal standards
- Manage permits, reclamation plans, and surety evaluations
- Reconcile reserves and verify annual quarry volumes
- Support blast optimization, automation, and efficiency initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related technical field
- Minimum ten years’ professional mine planning experience
- Open pit quarry operations experience preferred
- Experience with mine planning software, preferably Surpac
- Travel throughout North America up to forty percent
- Apply mine planning, quarry operations, and optimization expertise across Graymont’s Western Region from Calgary, Alberta.
