Your Impact Starts Here

Graham is actively recruiting for an Insurance Claims & Risk Advisor supporting the Corporate Services Division. Reporting to the Insurance Risk Manager, the Insurance Claims & Risk Advisor plays a key role in supporting project teams by coordinating insurance and surety requirements, managing claims administration, liaising with brokers and insurers, and ensuring timely collection and submission of claim-related information. Your Role in Building What Matters – From Office to Site

  • Claims Management
    • Coordinate and administer insurance claims of all types from first notice of loss through resolution and closure, ensuring timely reporting, documentation, follow-up, and compliance with policy requirements.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for project teams, brokers, insurers, adjusters, legal counsel, and other key stakeholders throughout the claims process, coordinating communications, facilitating issue resolution, and escalating high-risk or sensitive matters to the Director of Risk as required to support timely and effective claim outcomes.
    • Review incidents and potential claims to assess coverage considerations, reporting obligations, deductible impacts, escalation requirements, and next steps.
    • Gather, organize, and maintain claim documentation, including contracts, correspondence, project records, photographs, cost information, adjuster reports, and other supporting materials.
    • Monitor claim activity, track key milestones, maintain claim records, and report on reserves, recoveries, deductibles, settlements, claim costs, trends, and significant exposures.
    • Support claim resolution by reviewing coverage positions, settlement recommendations, and recovery opportunities, including subrogation, reimbursement, and cost recovery where appropriate.
    • Escalate complex, high-value, or potentially litigated claims while continuing to support coordination, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
    • Use claim outcomes, loss trends, and lessons learned to support corrective actions, annual insurance renewals, loss prevention, and improved risk management practices.
  • Insurance Administration and Project Support
    • Support day-to-day administration of Graham’s corporate insurance and surety programs, including coordination with brokers, insurers, sureties, internal teams, and external partners.
    • Collect, review, and organize underwriting information required for annual renewals, project-specific insurance placements, surety requests, and other insurance submissions.
    • Assist with the review of contract requirements, identifying gaps, risks, exceptions, or requirements that may require broker, legal, or management review.
    • Coordinate issuance, review, and tracking of certificates of insurance, bonds, letters of bondability, and other insurance or surety documentation.
    • Support project teams in obtaining insurance pricing, coverage confirmations, project-specific placements, policy documentation, and evidence of coverage in a timely manner.
    • Maintain accurate records, schedules, databases, correspondence, and supporting documentation in accordance with company standards and audit requirements.
    • Monitor insurance documentation requests and renewal-related activities to ensure deadlines are met and internal stakeholders receive timely, practical support.
    • Provide guidance to project and operational teams on insurance processes, documentation requirements, and escalation pathways for insurance or surety-related questions.
    • Build effective working relationships with operations teams, brokers, insurers, and external partners.
    • Support initiatives that promote risk awareness across the organization.

  • Construction or project-based industry experience considered an asset.
