Lead ecology programs for GHD’s Western Canadian team using technical leadership and natural environment regulatory expertise. Work from Vancouver, Calgary, or Edmonton. As Senior Ecologist and Technical Lead, you will guide private and public clients through ecology projects and regulatory requirements. The position supports Environmental Assessments, field investigations, proposals, permits, and technical reports. You will also help grow GHD’s natural science business through client relationships, staff mentorship, and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership on assessments, plans, and monitoring programs
- Lead proposals, fieldwork plans, permits, approvals, and reports
- Champion internal and external client relationships across Western Canada
- Coordinate resources and personnel across multiple projects
- Mentor staff and lead field investigations
Requirements:
- Required R.P.Biol. and/or P.Biol. designation
- Minimum 10 years leading Western Canadian ecology projects
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related discipline
- Strong report, proposal writing, project, and client management skills
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for fieldwork
- Bring ecology leadership, regulatory knowledge, and business acumen to GHD’s Western Canadian environmental practice.
