GFL Environmental is looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Hinton, AB!
The Heavy Equipment Operator will assist in the day-to-day field operations to ensure efficient processing of material and site safety standards are met.

Requirements
- Experience operating heavy equipment. Primarily Mini Excavators.
- Willing to work flexible hours.
- Experience working with Front End Loaders and Dozers and Compactors considered an asset.
- The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, able to work independently, and has landfill experience (considered an asset).
- Ability to obtain Transfer Station/Landfill Operations Certification if needed.
- Previous operations, transportation, waste management experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate mini excavator to process smaller material in a landfill setting.
- Ensure operations are performed productively and safely.
- Minor equipment maintenance, basic mechanical work, and completing paperwork (pre/post-trips, FLHAs, incident reports, etc.).
- Contribute to a healthy and safe working environment for all.
- Ensure company policy, systems, and industry related training is followed at all times.
- Working knowledge of equipment to manage solid waste and/or cover materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
