Join GFL Environmental as a Spare Driver on our Residential Collection team in Coquitlam, British Columbia. This role requires physical strength and a commitment to maintaining community standards.
As a Spare Driver, you'll work on an on-call basis, maintaining open availability for dispatch seven days a week. This position is ideal for individuals who possess a Class 5 license with an Air Brake Endorsement and enjoy driving while interacting with the public. You will be responsible for collecting and transporting waste, ensuring cleanliness and safety in residential areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manually load recyclable waste into the collection vehicle
- Operate collection vehicles using prescribed techniques
- Maintain route quality standards as set by management
- Exhibit professionalism when meeting the public
- Keep accurate records of services performed
Requirements:
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with Air Brake Endorsement
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds
- Proven ability to safely operate a truck and equipment
