Our client seeks an experienced payroll expert to manage several employee groups and serve as a team reference. You will oversee processing, government remittances, employee records, and payroll system settings. The position also involves answering compensation and benefits questions, collaborating with Accounting and Human Resources, and monitoring legislative changes. Your experience will support accurate period closings and colleague training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage data entry, validation, processing, and payroll reconciliation
- Ensure compliance with Canadian and provincial payroll standards
- Submit remittances, Records of Employment, T4, and Relevé 1 slips
- Maintain employee master files and payroll system settings
- Support closings, legislative updates, and colleague training
Requirements:
- Ten years of payroll experience, preferably with multiple employee groups
- DEC or AEC in accounting, administration, or related studies
- Knowledge of Canadian payroll and Quebec regulations
- Proficiency with payroll systems and Excel
- French communication skills; English is an asset
