Job Description Summary

Contributes to the design and development of products, solutions, and systems. Includes activities for the technical improvement of existing products and components. Influences departmental operations and is responsible for planning/execution. The role has a degree of autonomy but focuses on executing activities within an operational discipline covered by functional standard practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required, but this typically occurs under guidance.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Leads the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects according to solid technical principles and in compliance with business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
• This work includes mechanical and/or electrical technical development for all products.
• Deepens knowledge of a technical discipline.
• Utilizes previous experience and acquired technical expertise to implement policies/strategies.
• Has a solid understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to perform own work.
• Deep knowledge of how the work of their team integrates into other teams and contributes to the area.
• Uses a degree of judgment and has the ability to propose various solutions outside established parameters, but with guidance.
• Utilizes previous experience and on-the-job training to solve simple tasks.
• Has access to the technical skills and analytical thinking required to solve problems.
• Can use multiple internal sources outside their own team to make decisions.
• A position at this level is likely a single contributor with proven interpersonal skills or leadership potential who can hire and develop talent.
• Provides informal guidance to new team members.

Basic Qualifications

This role requires advanced experience. The knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
