CPA Student and Staff Accountant in Victoria

Gauer Olsen Chartered Professional Accountants is a well-established local public accounting firm located in Victoria, BC. We are currently looking to hire for January 2027 and September 2027. Job Description

• Prepares compilation and review engagement files, financial statements and corporate income tax returns for a wide variety of clients.
• Prepares personal income tax returns and trust income tax returns.
• Prepares a variety of T-slips.
• Fulfills a variety of support roles in accounting and bookkeeping for clients.
• Prepares GST and other statutory returns for clients as required.
• Assists with special projects as assigned by partners and managers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Eligible to enroll or currently enrolled in the CPA program or recently qualified CPA.
• Strong academic record.
• Great work ethic and ability to work in a team environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact professionally with both clients and colleagues.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Additional skills of a preferred candidate:

• Familiarity with accounting and tax software (SAGE, QuickBooks, TaxPrep, CaseWare).
• Corporate accounting or financial statement experience.
• Corporate tax experience.
• Personal tax experience.
• Bookkeeping experience.
