Design datacenter-scale software in Ottawa with C++, firmware, and system bring-up expertise. This in-person position owns development from concept through production. As a Principal Software Engineer at Broadcom, you will deliver ultra-high-performance software and firmware for complex multiprocessor architectures. Your work may span OpenBMC, ZephyrOS, embedded Linux, Yocto builds, device drivers, microcode, and upper-level control software. You will collaborate with experienced engineers and partner teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own software and firmware designs from concept through production delivery
- Develop drivers, microcode, firmware, and control software
- Support customer trials and resolve field issues
- Drive validation, testing, and automation activities
- Collaborate across interdisciplinary and partner engineering teams
Requirements:
- Experience developing C++ or C for datacenter architectures
- Experience with Linux, Yocto, OpenBMC, or ZephyrOS
- Expertise in silicon, board, and system bring-up
- Knowledge of low-level interfaces and management protocols
- Bachelor's engineering degree and 12+ years' experience
