This Registered Nurse provides direct care in the Operating Room under BCCNM standards and Fraser Health policies. The position involves assessing physical and psychosocial needs, coordinating care, and performing scrub and circulating duties. It also supports patient advocacy and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, document, and evaluate patient nursing care
- Receive and admit patients to the Operating Room
- Perform scrub and circulating duties using prescribed procedures
- Prepare instruments, supplies, and equipment required for surgery
- Maintain standardized counts and complete required documentation
Requirements:
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse registration with BCCNM
- One year of recent relevant clinical nursing experience
- Postgraduate coursework or certification applicable to the clinical area
- Ability to manage emergencies and recognize acuity changes
