What will you be doing?
- Under the direction of the Food & Beverage Manager and Assistant Managers, the Floor Manager is accountable for the day-to-day operations of the restaurant including staff training, light administration and active floor supervision during service.
- Build and maintain relationships with guests, team members and management alike.
- Show leadership in creating a culture that revolves around the experience and enjoyment of food and wine.
- Demonstrate high personal integrity, business ethics and take every opportunity to promote the venue.
- Communicate the vision to all team members and lead by example.
- Reinforce the Gulfstream and Four Points by Sheraton values daily, and inspire the team with an exciting vision for the future.
- Use conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Assist with the tracking of sales, invoicing, and managing inventory.
- Conduct briefings with service staff prior to each service.
- Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards.
- Strive for maximum efficiency and continual improvement of staff productivity.
- Participate or be aware of the Health & Safety Committee, ensuring that the Occupational Health & Safety Act and WSIB procedures are being followed.
- Ensure facility is well maintained, repaired and spotless at all times.
- Train staff in job duties, and sanitation and safety procedures.
- Set staff work schedules and monitor staff performance.
- Additional duties as assigned or required.
What are we looking for?
- Minimum 2 years' supervisor experience in a high volume, fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Must possess superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate extreme organization in a fast-paced environment while acting as a team player.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a large and variable workload, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assigned work.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
