This full-time, temporary position supports overhead and underground distribution powerline construction and maintenance. You will troubleshoot electrical systems, complete installations and repairs, and help apprentices develop technical skills and safe work habits. The schedule runs Monday through Saturday on a three-weeks-on, one-week-off rotation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair high- and low-voltage systems
- Construct distribution lines and frame wood and steel structures
- String conductors, pull cables, and operate construction equipment
- Follow permits, protective equipment requirements, and safe work procedures
- Support inspections, client walkdowns, and apprentice development
Requirements:
- Red Seal certification or equivalent powerline education and experience
- Journeyman experience in distribution or transmission environments
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence; Class 1A preferred
- Strong hazard recognition, problem-solving, and safety awareness
- Ability to perform heavy lifting in varied site conditions
