This experienced technician role supports overhead and underground distribution powerlines for Forbes Bros. Group of Companies. You will build new lines, maintain electrical systems, complete installations, and repair related components. The work requires practical field knowledge, safe work practices, and quality workmanship while supporting apprentices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair high- and low-voltage distribution systems
- Construct new lines and frame wood and steel structures
- Perform conductor stringing, cable pulling, and equipment setup
- Follow permits, protective equipment requirements, and safe work procedures
- Support apprentices and new team members with technical training
Requirements:
- Red Seal powerline certification or equivalent education and experience
- Previous journeyman experience in distribution or transmission
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence; Class 1A preferred
- Strong hazard recognition and hierarchy of controls knowledge
- Ability to perform manual labour and heavy lifting
