As an Advisor at Fanshawe College, you will support students in navigating their program options and credit transfers while providing personalized guidance. This position encompasses facilitating pre-admission advising, as well as participating in retention initiatives for diverse student cohorts. You'll work collaboratively to create resources that help students thrive and achieve their academic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored guidance via email, phone, and in-person meetings
- Advise on program fit, admissions processes, and credit transfers
- Conduct one-on-one and group meetings with prospective students
- Assist in customizing educational pathways and remedial guidance
- Maintain and track client records for effective advising
Requirements:
- 3-year diploma/degree in Social Sciences, Education, or related field
- At least 5 years of advising experience in a postsecondary setting
- Career Practitioner Certificate or equivalent preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with Ontario College policies and procedures
