Architect search, personalization, and Gen-AI experiences at Faire, with Kotlin or Java expertise and a hybrid schedule in Kitchener-Waterloo or Toronto. As a Staff Engineer on Faire’s Search FX team, you will shape retailer-facing discovery surfaces. You will define technical direction across retrieval, ranking, personalization, and high-performance backend systems. The work includes partnering with Data Science, Product, Design, and client engineers to advance search experiences. Key Responsibilities:

Seven-plus years of professional software engineering experience Three-plus years leading complex cross-team technical projects Experience deploying machine learning and Gen-AI search systems Knowledge of traditional, semantic, and hybrid search frameworks Strong Kotlin or Java programming skills Bring search architecture, AI/ML, and technical leadership to Faire’s retailer discovery experience across Kitchener-Waterloo or Toronto.
