We buy and sell trading card game products, operate retail locations, run e-commerce operations, and organize large-scale events across Canada through the F2F Tour. Technology supports nearly every part of our business, including our e-commerce storefront, point-of-sale systems, card appraisal and pricing tools, event operations, and the integrations that connect them.
Role Overview: We’re looking for an experienced full-stack developer to take ownership of existing applications and build new systems supporting our e-commerce and retail operations.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and maintain our Shopify storefront, custom apps, POS extensions, UI extensions, and Shopify Functions.
- Build and maintain internal web applications supporting card appraisal, pricing, events and retail operations.
- Develop integrations between Shopify, Oracle NetSuite, our product catalog, search infrastructure, and other business systems.
- Build and maintain data pipelines and utilities that keep pricing, inventory, and catalog data flowing reliably.
- Take ownership of existing applications developed by external agencies and contractors.
- Investigate unfamiliar codebases, troubleshoot production issues, and implement practical improvements.
- Help audit, document, and consolidate our existing applications and integrations.
- Make architecture and implementation decisions with consideration for maintainability, performance, and business requirements.
- Work directly with internal stakeholders to understand operational problems and translate them into technical solutions.
- Help establish practical standards for development, testing, documentation, deployment and code quality as we expand our internal development capabilities.
Required Experience:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, including senior-level ownership of production systems.
- Strong TypeScript and JavaScript skills across both frontend and backend development.
- Production experience with React and/or Svelte/SvelteKit.
- Node.js backend development experience using Express, Fastify, or similar frameworks.
- Shopify development experience, including apps, themes, and/or API integrations.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and modern data-access tooling such as Prisma or Drizzle.
- Experience building and integrating REST and GraphQL APIs.
- Ability to independently take ownership of unfamiliar codebases, diagnose problems, and make sound technical decisions.
- Ability to explain technical decisions and trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfort working with high-volume, business-critical e-commerce and retail data.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Shopify Polaris, App Bridge, and the broader Shopify app ecosystem.
- PHP/Laravel experience.
- NetSuite SuiteScript or other ERP integration experience.
- OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, or similar search infrastructure experience.
- PIM experience, particularly Akeneo.
- Experience transitioning development from an external agency to an internal team.
- Experience working as a solo or embedded developer with significant ownership.
- Automated testing experience using tools such as Vitest, Playwright, or PHPUnit.
- Python scripting experience.
- Familiarity with trading card games.
Location & Work Requirements:
Remote or hybrid role based in Canada. Physical presence in Canada and legal eligibility to work in Canada are required. English fluency is required for daily communication with our Ontario, US, and European teams and external partners.
