Support meaningful recreation programs for residents as a Recreation Aide, using compassionate communication and activity planning in a part-time position.
Reporting to the Recreation Manager, you will help organize, deliver, and evaluate daily activities for residents. The work includes resident assessments, records, outings, meal services, and communication with families, volunteers, and staff. You will collaborate with the Recreation Manager and Executive Director while supporting programs based on residents' interests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and implement meaningful resident programs
- Prepare, deliver, and evaluate daily activities
- Maintain assessments, evaluations, charting, and department records
- Facilitate scheduled and pre-arranged resident outings
- Communicate events with residents, families, volunteers, and staff
Requirements:
- College diploma in Recreation, Leisure Studies, Gerontology, or equivalent
- Previous experience working with seniors
- Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Valid provincial driver's license for resident van transportation
- Vulnerable Sector Check, Smart Serve, and Food Handlers Certificates
