Role: The IT Business Analyst reports to the Manager, Product Operations & Enablement and works closely with the product owner and the product development team to support our Equisoft/centralize product. The incumbent will build and maintain the functional documentation foundation for the product's next-generation web platform. Also, he will own the structured documentation of client change requests on our established desktop platform. This role suits someone who finds real satisfaction in turning complex, partly documented systems into clear, organized, reliable references.

Below you will find a brief description of the products expected to be offered as part of the digital insurance platform:

Equisoft/centralize is a powerful back-office insurance agency management system that offers our clients a way to connect carriers' feeds, paramedical data, clients, policies, and more to a single platform. Our workbench solution helps our customers work smarter, provides unique insights, and makes it possible to automate their business processes.

Your Day with Equisoft:

  • Build and maintain functional documentation for the Centralize web platform in Confluence, covering modules, workflows, business rules, and field-level specifications (data types, validations, dropdown values and ordering, error states).
  • Document existing behaviour by exploring the application hands-on and interviewing subject-matter experts, then turn that knowledge into clear, reusable documentation.
  • Build and maintain a feature inventory mapping desktop-platform capabilities to their web-platform equivalents, keeping traceability current as both evolve.
  • Document client change requests in Jira using our standard ticket structure: solution description, original client request, estimations, acceptance criteria, release notes, and linked support tickets, with correct billable and non-billable classification.
  • Follow and help enforce our ticket workflow and authorization steps so that work enters development complete and approved.
  • Define and maintain documentation standards, templates, and page structures so the documentation stays consistent and easy to navigate.
  • Support development and QA by answering functional questions and validating that delivered work matches documented behaviour.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate documentation drafting, synthesis, and ticket writing, validating every output for accuracy.

Requirements:

Technical

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or Information Technology or other University Degree
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a SaaS product environment
  • A demonstrated ability to document existing systems, not only new features. Please include or be ready to share writing samples.
  • A high level of precision and structure in documentation: you notice when a spec leaves a decision to interpretation.
  • Advanced use of Jira and Confluence, or equivalent tools.
  • Experience gathering knowledge from subject-matter experts and turning it into structured documentation.
  • Comfort working across two platforms at different stages of maturity (desktop and web).
  • Good working knowledge of AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) in a daily documentation workflow.
  • Knowledge of the Life and Health insurance products and processes (asset)
  • Exposure to MGA/agency management systems or the Canadian insurance distribution ecosystem (asset)
  • Excellent French & English communication skills, written and spoken

Soft skills

  • Strong organizational skills and proven ability to prioritize activities effectively.
  • A critical and innovative mind: we need someone who can recommend improvements and constructively challenge themselves and their team members.
  • Ability to communicate, write and synthesize information
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Team spirit, tact, diplomacy, autonomy, rigor and discipline
