We are seeking an Intermediate Hydrogeologist to join our growing Hydrogeology team. This role will span hydrogeological investigations, groundwater monitoring, data analysis, and technical assessments. You’ll work alongside experienced hydrogeologists and multidisciplinary teams, applying your field and consulting expertise to address complex groundwater challenges and deliver practical solutions for our clients. The role will involve regular travel to U.S. and Canadian project sites.

The Role: As an Intermediate Hydrogeologist, you’ll plan and deliver hydrogeological investigations, coordinate field programs, analyze and interpret groundwater data, and develop conceptual hydrogeological models to support engineering, mining, and natural resource projects. You’ll take increasing ownership of technical deliverables and project coordination, working closely with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams while providing guidance to junior staff and contributing to high-quality project delivery.

  • Plan & Deliver Projects: Plan and coordinate hydrogeological investigations, groundwater monitoring programs, and assigned project scopes, managing schedules, budgets, resources, and technical requirements in collaboration with accounting staff, project managers and senior hydrogeological engineers.
  • Lead Field Investigations: Conduct and coordinate groundwater and surface water sampling, drilling, well installation and development, lithological logging, groundwater level monitoring, and hydraulic testing, including packer testing. Oversee the use and maintenance of field equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure field procedures are developed and followed to meet project requirements.
  • Analyze & Interpret Data: Compile, validate, manage, and interpret hydrogeological, geological, geochemical, climatological, and environmental data. Analyze hydraulic testing results and develop hydrographs, groundwater flow maps, and hydraulic gradient calculations to assess groundwater conditions and support technical recommendations.
  • Develop Hydrogeological Assessments: Develop and refine conceptual hydrogeological models, identify data gaps and uncertainties, assess risks, and provide recommendations to support mine water management, engineering design, and further investigations.
  • Technical Reporting & Quality Assurance: Prepare and review technical reports, work plans, proposals, data summaries, and field documentation. Apply QA/QC procedures, verify data accuracy and completeness, and resolve routine to moderately complex technical issues.
  • Manage Client & Project Relationships: Communicate technical findings, field observations, project progress, and recommendations to clients and multidisciplinary teams. Coordinate project activities, provide timely updates, and support effective client service and delivery.
  • Mentor & Develop Others: Provide technical guidance to junior staff, share technical knowledge, and promote consistent field practices, analytical skills, and professional development.
  • Support Business Development: Contribute to proposals, scopes of work, investigation methodologies, and resource planning while strengthening client relationships and supporting continuous improvement of technical practices.
  • Champion Health & Safety: Identify and manage health, safety, and environmental risks, contribute to safe work planning, comply with applicable legislation and site requirements, and promptly report hazards, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.

What We’re Looking For: Typically, 4 to 8 years of relevant consulting or industry experience in hydrogeology, mine dewatering or a related field. Demonstrated experience planning and executing hydrogeological investigations, groundwater monitoring, drilling, well installation and development, sampling, and hydraulic testing. Experience analyzing and interpreting hydrogeological data, aquifer testing, and developing conceptual hydrogeological models. Experience preparing and reviewing technical reports, presentations, work plans, proposals, and other consulting deliverables. Proficiency with Excel, GIS, Leapfrog, and hydrogeological databases; experience with Access or SQL is an asset. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical judgment skills. The ability to work independently and take ownership of technical work. Demonstrated ability to coordinate project and field activities, collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and provide guidance to junior team members. Experience in the mining sector and bilingual (English/French) communication ability are assets.

Education & Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Geological or Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree in hydrogeology is an asset. Professional registration or eligibility for registration (e.g., P.Eng, P.Geo, EIT, GIT).
