Envy Consulting Group is partnering with Silent H, one of King West’s high-volume dining and nightlife destinations, to recruit an experienced General Manager to lead its Toronto operation. This is not a maintenance role. Silent H is an elevated Mexican restaurant at King and Spadina with 145 indoor seats, three patios, approximately 60 employees and more than $8M in annual revenue, plus a separate late-night concept on the lower level. The operation is established, the kitchen and guest experience are strong, and head office handles marketing, accounting and payroll. Ownership is looking for a commercially minded, floor-present GM who can increase revenue per guest, elevate service and sales execution, develop the management team and take full accountability for the performance of the business.
What You’ll Own
- Revenue growth: Drive per-head spend and upselling through better floor leadership, coaching and accountability.
- P&L performance: Own labour, controllable costs and overall operating performance.
- Leadership: Develop the AGM, floor managers and bar leadership into a stronger, more accountable management team.
- Training: Build consistency around onboarding, mock service, coaching and readiness standards.
- Talent: Lead front-of-house hiring and make the calls required to build a high-performing team.
- Service: Be highly visible on the floor approximately four nights per week, leading pre-shifts, coaching managers and interacting with guests.
- Late-night operations: Oversee the performance, labour and costs of H while its dedicated management team handles the nightly operation.
Who We’re Looking For
You are likely already running a high-volume, full-service restaurant or hospitality operation and have had real accountability for both people and numbers. You should bring:
- General Manager or senior hospitality leadership experience in a high-volume environment
- Full P&L and labour-management accountability
- A track record of increasing revenue, average cheque or operating performance
- Strong floor presence and the ability to coach in real time
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced King West environment
- Experience within an independent restaurant, opening or turnaround environment is particularly attractive
- Nightlife experience is an asset, but not required
This role is best suited to someone who wants to run the business, not simply administer it. Ownership expects results, but gives its GM meaningful autonomy to produce them. The current mandate specifically calls for someone who can operate without being micromanaged.
Compensation & Schedule
- Revenue-linked gratuity share: Currently approximately $40,000 annually
- Profitability bonus: Up to $40,000
- Expected total compensation: $140,000–$180,000
This is a five-day schedule within a Tuesday-to-Sunday evening operation, with approximately four nights spent leading on the floor. Outside major peak periods such as December and TIFF, there is meaningful flexibility in how the GM structures their time.
Interested? If you are successfully running another restaurant and are not actively looking, we would still welcome a conversation. This is the type of opportunity where the scope, autonomy and earning potential may be worth hearing about.
