Confidential opportunity | High-growth environment | Direct CFO exposure

Are you an experienced accounting professional looking for a role where you can move beyond traditional reporting and take meaningful ownership of a finance function? We’re looking for a Financial Controller to join a growing organization and work directly with the CFO. This is a high-impact individual contributor role with broad exposure across financial reporting, technical accounting, acquisition integration, compliance, planning and process improvement. The role offers an exciting opportunity to help integrate a newly acquired business before progressively taking ownership of the broader financial controlling and planning function.

What you'll be doing

  • Acquisition & integration
    • Lead finance-related activities associated with the integration of a newly acquired entity
    • Support migration of financial data, chart of accounts, fixed assets and other accounting structures
    • Partner with the acquired business and CFO throughout the integration
    • Support purchase price allocation and other acquisition-related accounting activities
    • Own and improve the month-end close process across multiple entities and currencies
    • Review financial results, reconciliations, intercompany balances and transfer pricing
    • Prepare variance analysis, management commentary and executive/Board reporting
    • Ensure financial statements and supporting schedules are accurate and complete
  • Technical accounting & compliance
    • Lead or coordinate external audits and statutory reporting
    • Partner with tax and accounting advisors on compliance requirements
    • Apply US GAAP to complex accounting matters, including leases, consolidation, foreign currency and acquisitions
    • Identify and resolve accounting, tax and reporting issues
  • Planning & process improvement
    • Support and progressively take ownership of budgeting and forecasting
    • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline finance processes
    • Leverage tools such as Excel, Power Query, accounting-system functionality, AI and third-party technology
    • Contribute to broader finance initiatives including project accounting, transfer pricing and currency-related projects

What we're looking for

  • 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally combining public accounting and industry experience
  • Experience in financial controlling, financial reporting or a similar corporate finance function
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Experience with consolidation, lease accounting and business combinations/acquisition accounting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • A genuine interest in process improvement, automation and leveraging technology

Why consider this opportunity?

This is more than a traditional controllership role. You'll have direct exposure to the CFO, immediate involvement in an acquisition, and the opportunity to shape and ultimately own a broad financial controlling and planning function. It's an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys technical accounting but also wants greater ownership, visibility and influence within an organization. If you're ready for a role where you can make an immediate impact and build something for the long term, we'd love to hear from you.
