ENA2 Innovative Consulting Inc. is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to support engineering consulting services across different industries. The ideal candidate has a strong background in the design and analysis of steel, concrete, and wood structures. The role involves complex structural calculations, static and dynamic finite element analysis, technical documentation, and consulting project delivery. Candidates should be proficient with some of the following structural analysis tools: SAP2000, RISA 3D, STAAD Pro, ETABS, or Abaqus.
What You'll Do
- Structural Design Calculations: Perform structural design calculations for complex structures.
- Finite Element Analysis: Conduct static and dynamic, linear and nonlinear finite element analysis (FEA) and design for a variety of equipment, components, and structures.
- Technical Documentation: Develop and review engineering reports, design drawings, construction documents, and client-required forms.
- Product Development: Lead the design and development of innovative new products.
- Engineering Methodologies: Develop methodologies required for project analysis and studies in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
- Technical Proposals and Reports: Prepare technical proposals, detailed reports, and presentations as required.
- Consulting Project Delivery: Execute and deliver projects in a consulting environment with multiple priorities and evolving timelines.
- Technical Sales Support: Support the sales team in presenting structural engineering services and Abaqus software to prospective clients.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with other engineers in a multidisciplinary work environment.
- Client Relationships: Develop and maintain positive client relationships.
- Other Related Duties: Perform other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Structural or Civil Engineering.
- At least 5 years of industry experience.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with both APEGA and APEGBC.
- Exceptional knowledge of structural engineering and proficiency in the National Building Codes of Canada.
- Significant experience in structural steel and reinforced concrete design.
- Strong knowledge of the requirements of CSA S16 and CSA A23.3.
- Working knowledge of structural analysis using SAP2000, RISA 3D, and STAAD.
- Proficiency with standard Windows software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, with working knowledge of computer systems.
Additional Assets
- Experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing is preferred.
- Proficiency with Abaqus and ANSYS is considered an asset.
