Lead financial reporting and month-end close as an Assistant Controller supporting a CFO, Staff Accountant, and senior leadership across multiple sites.
This Assistant Controller supports monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP statements while managing day-to-day accounting operations. You will analyze variances, strengthen controls, support audits, and partner with operational teams. The position also supervises and coaches a Staff Accountant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and consolidated packages
- Explain budget and prior-period variances with the Financial Analyst
- Oversee banking, accounts payable, and accounts receivable operations
- Support tax reporting, audits, and internal control improvements
- Supervise, coach, and review the Staff Accountant
Requirements:
- CPA designation or near completion
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Four-plus years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong GAAP knowledge and month-end close experience
- ERP experience and advanced Excel skills
