Our client is seeking an experienced Superintendent for upcoming commercial projects across Alberta. The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of commercial construction leadership experience, with a proven ability to manage complex projects from ground-up through completion. This organization is a well-established and respected construction firm known for delivering high-quality, safety-driven projects across commercial, light industrial, and multi-family sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership and accountability for daily on-site construction activities.
- Plan, schedule, organize, and control construction projects from mobilization through completion.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, budgets, schedules, and safety standards.
- Coordinate, supervise, and direct subcontractors, trades, and site personnel.
- Monitor productivity, sequencing, and quality of work to maintain project timelines.
- Track project progress and prepare detailed progress reports and schedules for clients and internal teams.
- Maintain strong, proactive communication with owners, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Enforce site safety policies and promote a strong safety culture at all times.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in commercial, retail petroleum, or light industrial construction.
- 5+ years of Superintendent-level experience managing projects valued between $5M–$20M.
- Experience with modern construction software is preferred (ProCore).
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn and adapt to new construction technologies.
- Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Willingness to travel to project sites throughout Western Canada.
