As a Pathology Assistant, you will deliver timely clinical and scientific quality within Dynacare's Histology team. The work includes gross examination, dissection, embedding, documentation, equipment operation, and specimen traceability. Your anatomic pathology support contributes to downstream treatment decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform gross examinations and prepare tissue sections
- Embed tissue in tissue blocks for processing
- Document gross findings using laboratory procedures
- Operate equipment and load tissue processors
- Maintain records, supplies, equipment, and sanitary work areas
Requirements:
- Knowledge of Histology, medical terminology, and Gross Anatomy
- Knowledge of dissection techniques and Microanatomy
- Graduate of approved Laboratory Sciences program or equivalent
- Bachelor of Science in Biology or related equivalent education
- Strong computer, communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
