This R&D Co-op Student position supports engineering projects, tooling, prototyping, and manufacturing activities. You will use Mastercam, operate CNC milling equipment, and assist with molding and extrusion trials. The placement suits students working toward a Mechanical Engineering degree, diploma, or equivalent. IPEX develops advanced plastic piping systems across North America.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate three-axis CNC milling machines
- Develop CNC milling programs using Mastercam software
- Assist with molding, extrusion, and blending trials
- Create three-dimensional models and technical drawings
- Design custom jigs and fixtures using three-dimensional CAD
Requirements:
- Work toward a Mechanical Engineering degree, diploma, or equivalent
- Training or experience with Mastercam CNC programming
- Training or experience operating CNC milling machines
- Familiarity with machining processes and machine shop safety
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills
Build practical R&D experience through CNC programming, tooling design, machining, and product testing at IPEX's Mississauga facility.
