Position Overview
DME is seeking motivated Welder/Fabricators to join our production team. This position involves the layout, fit-up, fabrication, and assembly of stainless-steel process equipment and tanks in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will have welding and fabrication experience; however, training will be provided to motivated individuals with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
Reporting to the Production Team Lead, the Welder/Fabricator will work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure quality workmanship and efficient project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings and engineering specifications
- Perform accurate layouts and measurements from drawings
- Fit and assemble fabricated components and sheet metal parts
- Prepare joints and perform tack welding
- Install fittings, nozzles, and process connections
- Purge weld stainless steel tube, pipe, and fittings
- Operate fabrication tools and equipment safely and efficiently
- Follow production procedures and quality requirements
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Perform welding and finishing work in confined spaces and at heights when required
- Support other production activities as assigned
Qualifications
- Technical diploma in welding and/or fabrication preferred
- Red Seal certification considered an asset
- Ability to perform basic welding functions; weld test required
- Experience in a manufacturing environment considered an asset
- Stainless steel fabrication experience considered an asset
