As Lead Specialist Mining Engineer, you will support growth, due diligence, and asset transformation studies within Corporate Development. Apply engineering judgement to conceptual and detailed mine designs, schedules, and strategic scenarios. Your work will inform portfolio decisions across multiple jurisdictions and mining methods. Key Responsibilities:
Review resource, reserve, geological, design, schedule, and cost information Assess third-party mine plans, schedules, and cost estimates Develop mine designs and schedules for open pit projects Optimise long-term plans for cash flow, mine life, and NPV Prepare technical reports supporting investment decisions and due diligence Requirements:
Mining Engineering degree; postgraduate qualification preferred About 15 years of relevant technical and operational experience Open pit and underground experience across multiple mining methods International project or site exposure across multiple jurisdictions Proficiency with Deswik, Whittle, Stope Optimiser, Minemax, or similar Bring mine planning, optimisation, and due diligence expertise to Gold Fields’ strategic portfolio development across international mining assets.
