This Dental Assistant position supports dentists and hygienists during treatments, with responsibility for room preparation, instruments, materials, and workflow. You will take dental X-rays and digital images, perform sterilization, and follow IPAC standards. The work also includes updating patient charts, explaining oral hygiene and post-treatment care, supporting scheduling, and following privacy, safety, and regulatory requirements. Registration or certification with your provincial regulatory body or association is required, while previous dental assisting experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take dental X-rays and digital images when required
- Perform instrument sterilization according to IPAC standards
- Prepare materials, instruments, and treatment rooms
- Assist dentists and hygienists during patient treatments
- Provide oral hygiene and post-treatment care education
Requirements:
- Provincially registered or certified Dental Assistant
- Previous dental assisting experience is preferred
- Ability to follow infection control requirements
- Ability to follow privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
